Iowa Tea Party Statewide Convention

While the turn out for the convention was hampered possibly by all the other events occuring simultaneously throughout the Des Moines area, hundreds of people showed up to protest the overreaching and ever-expanding government. A video from Michele Bachmann was presented near the beginning and many speakers voiced their concerns. Speakers included Jamie Johnson, Aaron Dorr, Vicki Crawford, The TeaPublican, Dave Funk, Lori Main and several others. Tables set up at the event allowed people to view and visit each cause/issue as they so desired. Tables included those by the Campaign for Liberty, various 9-12 groups, the Pro-Life group, Iowa Carry, USS Iowa Project, Parental Rights, and various Iowa candidates. Petitions were signed which Iowa Tea Party leader, Ryan Rhodes will take with him to Washington D.C. next week, and all in attendance had the chance to network and sign up for new groups that interested them. Overall the convention was a great success! Kudos go to Ryan Rhodes for coordinating this event!
