That's the problem -- so many people -- the vast majority do not educate themselves!!!! They swallow what the mainstream media is putting out there and it is so biased! It does take some effort and time -- but people need to be diligent about being truly informed!!

In thte beginnig of this year the Des Moines Tea Party suggested that we get involved in our caucus. When they ask for volunteers raise your hand, be part of the decision makers. We did, and I know that my party is seeing a record number of participants for a mid term and have been told that they have not seen numbers like this since the Goldwater days. At the third district convention Mr. Gopal asked the crowd "how many of you are involved in a Tea Party or 912 group"? Half of the people raised their hand! We are having a huge effect in our political process and we will have a large percentage of delegates to vote at the State convention. There is one thing that we all must understand... Iowa has more independents than any other affiliation, if you are an Independent and want to continue being a decision maker, you must register with a party in order to vote in the upcomming primary election. You can do this at the poles but the County Auditor has requested that you take care of this before as it will slow things down at the pole. (I believe they are expecting some really big numbers this year:) So again, Independents...please take part in the primary elections June 8th and to do so you must be registered as a Democrat or a Republican. You are welcome to remain in said party but something tells me many will be Independents again by June 9th.
