The Brandstad supporters and the Republican establishment are going to be pressuring us to unite behind Brandstad. What does everyone else think? I think there is no way I am voting for Brandstad. They alienated and insulted us during the primary process. Now they are trying to make us feel guilty for not supporting him during the general election. I have always voted for the winner of the primary. But I'm not doing it this time. Brandstad's view of the constitution and judiciary activism are totally inconsistent with my views. I will not compromise this time. If it were just some minor differences of opinion, I would vote for him. I don't want Culver to win anymore than anyone else does. But if the establishment keeps alienating us during the primary process then taking advantage of us during the general election, how are we ever going to get Constitutional Conservatives through the primary process? I am very sensitive to guilt feelings (I guess I can blame that on the nuns in elementary school:) ) But I am resolve not to give in this time.

None of us want Chester to be governor Trina and I agree with you on your assessment of what Branstad will do or more importantly what he will not do. Branstad believes in judicial supremacy that a court opinion is law, he has already made it clear he will not only issue any executive orders like Bob would have but he doesn't even believe he has the authority through the Iowa Constitution to do it (choke) he has not even come out and called for the removal of the Supreme Court judges by voting them out his only plan in dealing with the same-sex marriage debacle is to throw it at the Legislature and hope for the best maybe in 6 to 8 years if we're lucky we can get an amendment passed, he will also do nothing about illegal immigration in Iowa.
Face it the most destructive things that have befell our country was brought about because of unchecked judicial activism I think most of us here know that and if we do not confront this issue head-on then it really won't matter what party controls the Legislature because the courts will make the law and the weak miseducated lawyer politicians will fall right in line and swallow it hook line and sinker, IMHO this is one of the most important issue in our country. This is the way I see it he would do no more than Culver is already doing when it comes to the marriage issue and the activist courts and if that is one of the issues that is in your closed hand that you will not compromise on than you know what you need to do or rather not do in November. If you're more concerned with economic issues Branstad may do a little better than Culver in that department but will he be another Chris Christie? I doubt it I don't see Terry taking on the teacher union that he helped put into such prominence and power in Iowa even after what he did has taken us from the top three in education in the country to number 28 in academic achievement. Culver will have plenty of mud ammunition to sling at Branstad that will stick but being beholding to the teachers union can't be one of those because he is also. Plain and simple fact I think Culver would've had a harder time dealing with Bob VP then Branstad but I'd suggest a watch and see strategy. Personally at this point I cannot vote for the man, God I wish Doug Gross would take his sorry act and hit the road! If he hadn't dredged up the relic from the past BVP would have had it locked up but Gross and his ilk couldn't stand to have a real informed conservative leading Iowa.

Please remember that I, like many "down ticket" candidates, still need your help and your vote in November. And while many of us are not happy with the primary results, we must support good candidates and "Endeavor to Persevere."
Thanks

We have seen the agenda of the "main stream" parties. We have had the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act forced on the American people. There is also pending legislation from Senator McCain/ Lieberman (S.3081) if passed this bill would make ALL American citizens suspected domestic terrorist and be held WITHOUT a trial unless an act of Congress grants them a trial.
These are just a few of the laws that have been passed or pending that have made American Citizens terrorist with in their own country.

This is a PDF of Army Regulation 210-35 “Civilian Inmate Labor Program which became effective February 14, 2005.
DO WE REALLY need these crazies sponsoring and co-sponsoring these UNCONSTITUTIONAL BILLS!
We need not to vote for the "Lesser of two evils" when we have many qualified candidates running as an Independent. Please have discernment when choosing an individual for office.

I will definitely be supporting the Constitutional Conservatives who are on the Republican ticket. Kent Sorenson is running for state senate in my district. There is no way I am going to let the establishment's disdain for us keep me from supporting candidates like Kent. I am a state convention delegate and I will not drop out. Doug Gross may have won the battle, but he is not going to win the war. He is trying to push us out of the party but I am digging in. Who's with me?

Hi Trina, are you in House District 74 also? If you are the individual running for Kent's seat is Glen Massie please give him great consideration. I have know Glen for over five years and he would be an excellent replacement for Kent. Please go to: massieiowahouse@gmail.com
Also consider Jonathan Narcisse for Governor. The Independent candidates are individuals we all need to consider or we will end up with the same garbage we have now. Not all of our elected officials are lacking integrity but the majority of them are and we need to clean house while we still have a chance!

Mark, I met Glen at the county convention. I have donated to him. He will be good for local and state government. I don't think I would support him for national office if he has the same positions on national security as Ron Paul. But I am supporting him for my house district.
