In the past few months I have seen a wavering from the foundation of true freedom in some Tea Party movements. This foundation is being threatened by personal ideals on various social issues. These ideals stand to separate the resolve of the only true HOPE our great country has for recovery from the tyranny it has come to face. The Declaration of Independence states that, “… whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their safety and happiness…” and, “…when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security…”.
The Tea Party movement stands alone on the front lines once again. Just like in 1773 we must set aside our differences and unite on common ground! We are the tip of the spear, only this spear is filled with knowledge and tact. The battle will be won by peaceably educating Americans and bringing misinformation and all that is deemed un-Constitutional to light. We must hold our leaders and the press accountable for their actions. All current officers and potential candidates for offices in all governments (local, state, federal) must be reminded of their duty to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.
Benjamin Franklin said, (we have given you) “A Republic, if you can keep it”. Well I am not ready to throw in the towel. Our government is on the fast-track to the destruction of all that America stands for! Our liberties, free enterprise, free will, culture, tradition, truth and justice all hang in the balance. These things are falling prey to gross government spending, over taxation without representation, corrupt politics, pork-barrel legislation, and the quasi- communist control over all aspects of wealth, property and business!

Communism is: “a system of social organization in which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating political party”.
All Americans, regardless of principle, can agree that we, the people, cannot allow this to go any further. Muster up and stand with me and all of our brothers and sisters to educate one another and peaceably remove the corrupt and institute new conservative governments on all levels to restore freedom to the Republic.
The Tea Party movement must not be divided; we must become and remain united with one solid message, WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!
The Des Moines Tea Party must carry the flag and lead by example from the front! We must remain strong, devoted, and never waiver!

I see the movement as a more collective mental movement. we all know in our guts that things are going very wrong, yet we don't know what to do. I don't want to see a national party-i feel that would only split the vote and shut out the lesser of two evils. The only thing the Republican party has to offer us, in my humble opinion is TIME. Precious time and we don't have much of that left. I just don't understand what it will take for people to to take to the streets. we are fighting for our way of life, our country and our children. We are the new patriots and I wear that badge with pride. I don't give a rip what anyone thinks of my opinions...we don't have that luxury anymore. The die has been cast and everyone is going to have to choose a side soon. I am very fearful for my country and am ashamed that I took it for granted for so long, while these weasels crept in and bit by bit have eroded our rights. I fear we have woken up too late and too many people just don't get it, not to mention all the others that want to be herded like sheep. Its a very sad state of affairs | |

I agree Elizabeth, it is a collective mental movement and I agree that creating a new national party would only take votes away from Republicans and give an advantage to the Democrats! That is the last thing I want to happen; this is why I don’t support a Tea Party 'Party' (at least until we have the majority in numbers). This is the reason we cannot as a collective support any specific candidates. We, as individuals, must do our own research with the basic principles of the Tea party in mind in order to select adequate candidates. We must all ask ourselves whether or not we can live with the setting aside of personal beliefs on various social issues in order to accomplish the greater good of restoring and protecting our freedoms and returning our country back to a republic of the people, for the people.
You say that, “the die has been cast and everyone is going to have to choose a side soon”. What if the only two sides you had to choose from, the left and the right, were really one in the same? You see we have been left with no choice, so we must let our voices be heard through our actions at the polls. We must educate everyone we can on the atrocities we are facing and the solution to the problem!
It is never too late to start a revolution. It has been 237 years since we have faced tyranny of this magnitude and today we have come full circle. We are back in 1773 only this time we have a bigger voice, a cadre of resources, and the uncontestable words of the Constitution of the United States and our Declaration of Independence! The question is, do we have the determination or will this revolution be cut short by complacency?
All who truly believe in the cause must display their support through action, because inaction is the biggest threat our freedoms face and is the one thing that allowed us to be in this horrible mess today!

you are sooo correct. we really don't have a choice...i see the repubs and dems as one in the same...one side just taking us further faster. we are in a revolution, whether people want to admit it or not. I have quit my job to stay at home with my kids this summer and to devote as much time as i can going to as many protests as i can. it means doing without many things and really tightening our belts, but i feel compelled to do this. I simply can't explain it any other way - compelled, driven from inside myself. I heard this over and over again when i was in dc in september...everyone used the same words to describe why they traveled across the country to be there. that is why i describe the tea party movement not as a party, but more of a collective meeting of the minds. I want to try to go to dc again in aug to see glenn beck at the lincoln memorial. because of money, will probably have to drive this time. may take my neice with me - but i have a van and if anyone wants to ride along and help with gas, driving, etc, i would certainly consider that. we need as many people as we can to attend these events. I can't tell you how inspiring it was to be there in our beautiful capital and with so many like minded people. I don't know what a million people look like, but there were more people there than this little iowa girl has ever seen and i believe more than what the media reported. Even the dc police said there was over a million people there-we talked to some and they said and i quote "anything over a million people is big.....and this is big". I met people that drove from all over the country. does anyone realize what that takes for people to do that?? People have fianally woken up, but like you, i fear that they are just getting tired. I know i feel that way sometimes, but we have to keep showing ourselves as a force to be dealt with. | |
