History of the TEA Party Movement
On December 16th, 1773-A group of colonists boarded 3
British ships and proceeded to dump chests full of tea
into the Boston Harbor in protest of the taxes levied
against imported tea shipped from Britain
On February 19th, 2009, Rick Santelli jokingly discussed
holding a Chicago Tea Party in protest of the mortgage
bailouts
AND THE DES MOINES TEA PARTY WAS BORN!!
On April 15th, 2009 American patriots all over the
country assembled in their respective towns and state
capitols to protest the onslaught of new taxes being
raised by the federal government.Today's TEA Party
movement stands for Taxed Enough Already!
